Distressed With Your Acne Problem? Determine Your Skin Type For The Best Acne Treatment!

Acne is the most common skin disease affecting a huge number of teenagers and adults today.
Acne most commonly affects the neck, face, shoulders, and upper back.
No matter whether you are a teenager or adult, there are thousands of acne treatment options to control your acne.
However, there is no best acne treatment that works effectively for everyone.
This is because everyone’s skin is unique. So, the best acne treatment for you depends only on your skin type.Best Acne Treatment
The skin type of yours can fall into one of the three categories: oily skin, dry skin, or combination skin. So, before finding the best acne treatment for you, identify your skin type.
The majority of people that suffer from acne have oily skin. You can determine your skin type as oily with these characteristics.
The face appears oily with open pores, the skin tends to be thicker, noticeable blackheads [Remove Blackheads] and breakouts due to blockage of pores with oil and t-zone area becomes oily very quickly after cleansing.
It is a common tendency of people that the best acne treatment for oily skin is to dry out the pores with the products that eliminates oil.
However, it is not the best acne treatment for oily skin because it makes oil glands go crazy in producing all the oil that was lost. Thus, oil production increases and the face becomes even oilier than before.
So, the best acne treatment for oily skin is to use an acne treatment product containing an oil free moisturizer. On the other hand, while using soaps or cleansers that contain no moisturizer, try to finish off your regular skin care by applying moisturizing cream (very lightly) to your face.
On the other hand, dry skin can be identified with the characteristics such as tight and dryness in the skin, absence of oil in the t-zone, skin appears dull and rough, and skin tends to be thin. [Dry Skin Care]
It is not that only oily skin can cause break outs (because of oil clogged pores); even dry skin can result in break outs with extreme dryness of the skin. Over dryness in the skin can make the skin get irritated easily and also cause blemishes.
The best acne treatment for the dry skin is a good moisturizer in addition to your acne skin care products. Remember that dry skin needs more moisturizer. So, apply moisturizer at least twice a day. However, always use oil-based moisturizer instead of oil free moisturizer.
The most confusing skin type is combination skin, as it can be normal/dry or normal/oily. A normal/dry skin shows noticeable blackheads on nose and chin, cheeks dryness, skin tightness, and limited oil in the t-zone whereas a normal/oily skin will have cheeks oily or dry, blackheads in the T-zone and the t-zone gets oil at the end of the day.
The best acne treatment for combination skin would be an oil free moisturizer with other acne skin care products. If cheeks are too dry, concentrate on applying more moisturizer to the dried area of your face.
Therefore, don’t lose your hopes, identify your skin type and follow the best acne treatment for you.

5 Easy Ways To Avoid Acne Scars

Acne scars can be considered as one bad dream from many people.
The pain and discomfort of having acne during the teenage or puberty years may be temporary and can be healed with treatment and time.
However, the scars brought by the acne can remain and become a bitter reminder of the past.
Not all outbreaks caused by acne can leave acne scars, usually these scars are due to the tissue damage which happen only when an infected acne lesion run deep under the skin’s surface.

Age, ethnicity and heredity are also determining factors when considering the extent of scarring that a person can have from acne.
Acne scars can be permanent and you cannot completely erase it, so it is imperative that you find ways to avoid getting them or minimize their appearance. If scars do happen, there are ways that you can do to lessen their size or appearance.
1. Do not prick or “pop” pimples.
Fight the urge to pop, squeeze or pop your pimples that come out on your face.   Doing this can push the infection deeper into the skin, spread the inflammation and even worsen the damage into the skin tissue.
Pricking, popping and squeezing may also cause the infection to spread to other areas of the face and even worsen the breakout. It is better to just let pimples heal naturally and avoid getting acne scars.
2. Prevent Inflammation
Inflamed pimples wounds are more likely to leave acne scars as this shows how the skin underneath is experiencing stress or the tissues are already damaged.
An inflamed condition shows dark red skin which is hot and painful. Always remember that a pimple is an irritation and it is essential that further irritation must be avoided.
Scrubbing or applying harsh ingredients which are not medically tested should be best avoided when dealing with pimples to avoid        acne scars.
3. Get treatment fast
Acne scars can be best avoided and fought if you seek treatment as soon as the acne comes out. Fighting the urge to prick or pop and keeping your hands off  your pimple until it heals does not mean that you cannot seek treatment[acne treatment] for it.
You can ask professionals to analyze your acne situation and to give you good advice for treatment management and better outcome.
4. Know if you are scarring-prone
The tendency to develop acne scars from lesions and wounds differ from one person to another. If you have scars from childhood accidents or if you notice that it takes a while for your skin to recover or heal from minor irritations, scratches or skin bites, then tell your dermatologist who is treating you for acne about it.
There are specific medications that can help prevent or lessen the possibility of scarring even for those who are prone to it.
5. Seek professional help
Acne can become deep cysts, large or involve extensive breakouts and you may feel feverish and unexplained pain. Nodules, deep cysts like-pimples as well as gnawing pain may indicate that your skin tissues are being destroyed.
This can easily lead to skin trauma and acne scars. Professional medical help is very  much needed when you are experiencing severe acne problems.
Professionals will have a thorough analysis of your symptoms for you to have an improved chance of recovery and prevention of acne scars.

Abnormal Liver Function Causes Acne

Have you heard of the common belief that your hormonal imbalance is causing your severe acne eruptions? Well, there is truth to that and in fact your liver plays an important role in it. It is wrong to just manage the symptoms of acne without finding the root cause of the problem.
The liver’s major responsibility is to store carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and blood products; it also plays a vital role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, protein and fats, transforming ammonia to urea, to be excreted out of the urine; it also synthesizes the secretion of water daily and most importantly it detoxifies drugs, bacteria and hormones.
acneThe liver however, when burdened with demanding tasks, exposed to air and water pollutants, toxic materials from tobacco and medicines, too much alcohol, poor diet and severe stress, can malfunction and send wrong signals and create a hormonal imbalance in your body.
When that happens, toxins and waste products of the body’s metabolism begin to accumulate and are manifested in your skin.
This is what happens during puberty, when the rapid growth and metabolism results to overwhelming accumulation of waste products and an increased sebum glands activity.
When the liver fails to neutralize the toxins and regulate the hormones, two things may happen; it is either stored in its own liver cells or they are re-routed to be stored in different organs, tissues and the entire skin of the body resulting to more serious problems, and one of them is severe acne.
One major complication of a malfunctioning liver is its failure to produce bile, which is very important in fat metabolism, and when this happens, a person suffers from constipation adding up to the presence of an already increased level of toxin.
To prevent this from happening, a daily liver cleanse is necessary, just like a car that needs a regular tune up and a house needing regular cleaning; the liver also needs to be kept in tip top shape to keep it functioning at its maximum level.
To do this here are 5 easy steps to follow in liver detox:
Step 1
You should decide how long you plan to do your liver detox, it could be from 5 days to 30 days the most. But the best way is to do it daily by making the right food choices.
Step 2
Stick to a diet with loads of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds during your detox. These are foods that are easy to digest and are rich in fiber needed to cleanse the digestive system and the liver.
Step3
Have a regular exercise schedule and stick to it during your detox. Exercise promotes blood circulation in all areas of the body, helping speed up the detoxification and promoting the healing process.
Step 4
You may take recommended herbal supplements to improve your liver function and give your immune system its needed boost. Some of the herbs include Burdock Root, Dandelion Roots, and Red Clover.
Step 5
Drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water. This is a must, as this will help flush out all the bad bacteria and toxins from your body.
Remember, that a healthy functioning liver will keep your hormones balanced and help you keep away from unwanted acne.

Vitamins For Healthy Skin

Here are several Topically Applied Supplements and vitamins that can be applied to your skin and their specific benefits.

Chromium - For acne. Chromium reduces skin infections.

Zinc - Zinc aids in healing of the tissues and helps prevent scarring.

Vitamin E - Vitamin E has been shown to play an important role in protecting skin from environmental and oxidative damage. It's also an excellent remedy for dry skin.

D-Panthenol - substance that is readily converted into vitamin B5. It is known to help the skin repair damage.

Hyaluronic acid
This is a natural moisturizer that already exists in our skin naturally and surrounds the collagen and elastin fibres. As we age, we produce less hyaluronic acid in our skin, making our skin less resilient and pliable. Hyaluronic acid is used in many  moisturizers and can also be injected by doctors into the skin.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3)
Helps exfoliate surface skin cells to reveal, newer, younger looking skin

Ceramides
These are lipids that help to prevent moisture loss through the skin. Consider skin moisturizer supplements as well.

Retinyl proprionate
A special  form of Vitamin A (retinol). It is part of a class of retinoids. It can improve the appearance of sun damaged skin by reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, skin roughness and appearance of age spots. It is a larger molecule than retinol, which is often referred to as the pure form of Vitamin A.

Retinoic acid
A derivative of vitamin A and has been used in the treatment of acne.  It has been known to  increase collagen production and reduce wrinkles, but it can have unpleasant side-effects   such as extreme sensitivity to sunlight, with increased reddening of the skin and peeling.

Dermatologists sometimes prescribe it for severe sun damage. Some cosmetics may contain small amounts of retinoic acid derivatives, which have some hydrating effects.

Lipisomes
Lipisomes (lipids or fats) are filled with active ingredients and carry these ingredients to where the skin needs it the most. The not only carry the needed ingredients but they can release the ingredients as needed.

Nanospheres
These are smaller versions of liposomes. Their smaller size allows them to penetrate deeper into the skin.

A Word of Caution:It is extremely important to note that taking too much of a vitamin or mineral can be toxic and extremely dangerous. Always follow the instructions on any vitamins or supplements that you take.

Beware of the thinking that "if a little is good a lot must be better". In most cases when it comes to vitamins for the skin, drugs or other ingested formulas, too much can be extremely harmful or toxic.

Take Care of Your Hearing Health at the Gym Too

Americans always seem to be concerned about their health, but about their waste line in particular. Even as far back as 100 years ago, Americans were creating work out machines, though they weren't nearly as useful as the ones that exist today are. It's incredibly important that Americans stay committed to their physical health because the country's current obesity epidemic has spun wildly out of control. Unfortunately though, as Americans focus on the health of their physical body, they often fail to think about other important health issues, such as their senses, which are often ignored because they aren't visible like waste lines are. As more and more people go to the gym to work out, they're often cranking up music on headphones that may be plugged directly into their ears, and all of that excessively loud noise can lead to permanent hearing loss.

In some gyms, working out is like a fashion statement. It seems as though everyone is there to check each other out, and that's okay as long as that's what you're looking for. But in all of the pressure to look good and impress fellow gym goers, many people find that they feel like they need to wear an iPod to fit in. There's absolutely nothing wrong with iPods as long as users are attentive and are sure that they don't turn the music up too loud. Yet when people are working out, they often fail to think about the volume of their iPod. Many people find that cranking music up loudly helps them stay motivated to keep moving, and other people turn the volume up because gyms can be very loud inside and they want to hear their music over the person grunting next to them. The combination of loud machines and TVs in the background all create a loud environment that forces people to turn their music even higher in order to overpower it. No matter what the reason, however, turning an iPod up too loud can lead to long term hearing loss, especially with the earbud style headphones that sit directly inside users' ears.

Of course all of this doesn't mean that people should stop exercising or that they should stop listening to music. Music is an incredibly powerful tool that can help encourage people to get in shape, and that's an amazing thing. While becoming more physically healthy though, people should take care of their hearing health as well. One solution is to ask your gym to turn down some of the loud background noises like TVs or music in public areas, and another solution is to purchase noise-canceling headphones to lower the outside noises that are competing with your headphones. In both of those situations, you can lower the volume on your iPod to help preserve your hearing abilities. If you are worried about your ears, visit a doctor in your area who can administer a hearing test for you. From there, your doctor can recommend various lifestyle changes to help protect your ears and can offer you the option of several different hearing solutions.

Sacramento Residents Shed Light on Hearing Loss

Many Californians flock from all over the state to live in Sacramento. Sure, most Americans think that San Francisco and Los Angeles are the only cities in the state where big things are happening, but Sacramento is the political hub of the state. That's why the city is always growing. The only problem is, that all of the growth Sacramento experiences leads to more noisy construction projects, which can cause hearing loss for people who are exposed to those noises over time.

Unfortunately, hearing loss is a health issue that many residents of Sacramento seem to be unaware of. A lot of Californians have become concerned with health issues in recent years, but many of those issues revolve around nutrition such as obesity, diabetes, and eating disorders. Those health issues are incredibly important, and it's great that they're receiving so much attention from residents who want to take care of the health of their community. However, it's also important that other health issues receive attention as well. Otherwise, people will never start taking them seriously. Hearing loss is an issue that has long been left out of the public discourse, partly because it's not as visible as other heath issues and partly because it can require additional effort to address. While some hearing loss is due to genetics, much of it is caused by the excessively loud noises that people are exposed to over their lives. Scientists have carried out many studies, which have shown that when people are exposed to loud noises over time, some of the tiny hairs in their ears that are used for hearing get killed off.

What constitutes a loud noise you ask? The figure varies based on what kind of animal is being affected, but anything over 80 decibels is a noise that is unhealthy for people. In places like Sacramento, that limit on a healthy level of decibels is regularly exceeded by things like construction projects. For example, a jackhammer can reach levels of up to 115 decibels, which is a level that is unsafe for anyone to be exposed to for very long. So why hasn't the government stepped in (especially in Sacramento, which is full of politicians) to address this problem? Because it's really unclear how to protect everyone's safety without impeding progress. Sacramento residents want their city to grow and flourish, and if hearing issues aren't a part of the public debate, then no one will challenge the safety of all of the construction projects in the area. Yet construction is just one of the few causes that is leading to hearing loss for so many Americans. That's why it's important that issues related to people's ability to hear are addressed as a whole, rather than attacking a single issue like the noises caused just from construction. So start talking about hearing loss with your co-workers, neighbors, friends and family because it's important that everyone takes note of the issue and gives a lot of thought towards how they can help make the community safer for everyone.

How to Take Care of Your Hearing Aid ?

In the United States, most people with hearing aids have to pay significant copayments that can make the essential devices quite expensive. But hearing aids are not something one can just go without – they are hardly an excess. In fact, without them, people who have suffered hearing loss due to traumatic events, genetics or diseases, or simply due to the natural processes of old age will be unable to fully participate in everyday society without incredible difficulty or significant help from others. So must people begrudgingly accept the cost. But because of the expense of a good hearing aid, that makes it all the more important to make sure to take care of it. You certainly do not want the device to break due to "unnatural" cause like your own negligence, nor do you want to have to replace the battery all of the time just because you have not taken the proper steps to preserve battery life. So if you have made the important first step in promoting your own health by obtaining a hearing aid, then follow these guidelines on how to take care of it to make it last as long as possible.

1. Turn the battery off when you are not using the hearing aid.

The battery itself can be one of the costliest parts of your brand new hearing aid. So when you are not using it – when you are in the shower, or taking a nap, or going to sleep for the night, make sure to turn it off! You do not want it draining all night when it is not even being utilized, that is just silly! But just in case the battery does die, make sure to always keep some spares around, so that you are never caught in a situation where your battery dies and you are without one until the next time you can see your doctor or make it to the local store. But just make sure to keep these spare batteries away from young children (like your grandkids) and/or your pets, as they are extremely toxic if ingested.

2. Make sure to take them off when you are in danger of exposing them to water.

Obviously, you want to make sure to remember to take off your aid when going swimming or taking a shower, but there are a number of other circumstances you might not think of as easily in which you could easily cause water damage. When you are washing your face in a sink, for example, you could easily end up splashing water on to the device that was simply meant to clean your skin! On super-rainy days, as well, you might want to take out the device and put it in a plastic bag if you do not have a solid hood and/or umbrella to protect your device from the rain.

3. Do not use hair products when wearing the hearing aid.

Chemicals and wet, sticky substances are not compatible with hearing aids. So when you are getting ready in the morning and applying sprays and gels to your coffe, make sure to take out your device!

Here are a few essential vitamins for healthy hair growth and care.

Well, you are right! It's not as cut and dry as you think, but taking vitamin supplements will definitely make a difference in your rate of hair growth and the health of your hair. The following guidelines should help you with your mission to increase your hair growth with vitamins:

Vitamin A

Vitamin A works to keep the hair follicle lubricated, which adds to the healthy appearance of your hair. Vitamin A is also essential for healthy skin and vision. It is found in yellow, red and orange vegetables and in green, leafy vegetables. Overuse of vitamin A, however, can lead to hair loss. This hair loss can be reversed by simply cutting down on the amount of vitamin A you are taking. Taking too much vitamin A can also cause nausea, vomiting, headaches and altered states of consciousness.

B Vitamins

B vitamins are one of the best vitamins for hair growth. They include niacin (vitamin B-3), which promotes healthy blood circulation to the scalp--this carries other vitamins, minerals and nutrients needed for healthy hair; pantheon (vitamin B-5) which may help stop hair loss and aid in hair re-growth; biotin, which is essential for preventing hair loss and may help prevent your hair from turning gray prematurely; and vitamins B-6 and B-12. B vitamins can be found in peas, beans, carrots, soy beans, nuts and eggs. While excess amounts of most B vitamins are excreted in the urine, taking too much niacin, vitamin B-6 and vitamin B-9 can cause vitamin toxicity.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is considered beneficial for hair loss as it works to increase blood circulation by stimulating the scalp. It is also believed to enhance the immune system, which can also help prevent hair loss. Most people will receive sufficient amounts of vitamin E in their diets if they include green vegetables, nuts and whole grains in their diets. Women who are trying to become pregnant should avoid taking supplemental vitamin E as it has been proven that it can contribute to congenital heart defects in the fetus when taken during the time of fertilization.

Biotin

Biotin is often seen in many of the hair, nails and skin vitamin formulas. Biotin stimulates new growth and prevents shedding of brittle hair and nails.

Easy Tips To Help You Fall Asleep

One of the most important things we can do for ourselves is to get the proper amount of sleep. However, a great majority of Americans suffer from a lack of sleep. People who don't get enough sleep are less productive at work, more susceptible to sickness and in general less happy than those who get a good nights sleep.

Of course, if it was so easy for everyone to sleep, there wouldn't be so many sleeping aids on the market, would there? With that in mind, here are a few essential tips you can follow to help improve your chances of getting a restful nights sleep.

First, you will want to maintain a routine sleeping schedule as your body will become more efficient at sleeping during these hours over time.

You should strive to make your bedroom as sleep friendly as possible. Essentially you want to create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility and remove as many unnecessary sounds and sights as possible. Be sure to use high quality drapes that will keep light out and remove such distractions as blinking cable boxes and computers. The less distractions in your bedroom, the better chance you will have of sleeping well.

Try to avoid both alcohol and caffeine several hours before your bed time. These stimulants take quite awhile to metabolize in your system and will help delay your ability to sleep. In fact, you will want to avoid drinking most liquids before bed, as this can lead to frequent bathroom trips during the night.

Many people find that winding down and reading a book before bed is a great help. Others find that a sleeping mask can do wonders to help keep out light and put them into a restful slumber. Many of these masks are quite inexpensive and worth a try for anyone who is suffering from sleep insomnia.

Of course the biggest factor is your mattress and pillow. Buying a high quality mattress and supportive pillow are essential ingredients for a restful sleep. A low quality mattress and pillow will lead to a great deal of tossing and turning, by applying pressure to your back, neck and joints. This can in turn lead to medical problems over time if it isn't rectified.

Getting a good sleep is quite elusive for many people, but by following the tips I have outlined above, you will be well on your way to getting the best sleep you have possibly had in years!

Everyone snores at some point in their lives but to which degree can it become a nuisance? When snoring becomes a problem you will notice changes in your daytime behavior; you will become agitated easily, fatigued and raise health problems. Other causes for snoring may be from sinus problems, being overweight, your build, alcohol, smoking or drug abuse.

Making simple changes to your lifestyle can make all the difference in the world. If you are known to get sinus infections often then you can try to prevent this by doing an easy irrigation on a regular basis using warm salt water and salt. This can be done with the use of a neti pot. This is a pot that is made of ceramic, metal or plastic and is used to catch the junk that comes out after irrigation. When need be you can use nasal sprays that are sold over the counter. These will help for congestion, common colds and allergies. Be careful when using for an extended amount of time because they can actually have an adverse affect on you and cause swelling and increased mucous. Eating healthier and maintaining a good exercise regimen will begin to help you sleep much better. Make sure that you check with your doctor even if you decide to use an all natural method to help your snoring.
